989 Walter's Candy Stripes Tomato, 5 Seeds

Description

- 989 Walter's Candy Stripes is a vigorous midseason indeterminate tomato producing spectacular yellow-and-pink bicolor beefsteaks. The large fruits develop a flattened-round shape with gently rounded shoulders and occasional shallow ribbing, typically weighing approximately 10.6–17.6 oz. The glossy golden-yellow to orange-yellow skin is decorated with radiant pink, coral-red and crimson streaks. As the tomatoes reach full maturity, the blossom end may become extensively flushed with pink, creating a dramatic sunburst appearance.
- Cut fruits reveal thick, meaty interiors marbled in luminous shades of yellow, peach and rosy pink. The juicy, relatively low-seed flesh delivers concentrated sweetness, rich fruity flavor and an aromatic finish with gentle acidity. Strong indeterminate plants reach approximately 5.9 feet and provide regular production through the season. Support the heavy fruits with tall stakes, strings or sturdy trellising, and train plants to one or two main stems for improved airflow and manageable fruit clusters. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, tomato platters, juice and richly colored golden-pink sauces.
