◆ Huang Youyou (Solanum nigrum) is an annual herb, 40–100 cm tall, with an upright stem. Its berries are small and spherical, turning golden yellow when ripe, with 5–8 berries per cluster. The fruits are plump and uniform, with thin skin, soft and juicy flesh, a sweet and fragrant flavor, and a long-lasting aftertaste. This variety has a growth period of approximately 105 days, is highly adaptable, and performs consistently in suitable planting areas. It is suitable for balcony and potted ornamental planting, as well as small-scale cultivation in courtyards and open fields. Ripe fruits can be eaten fresh and also offer certain medicinal value, making it an excellent variety with both edible and medicinal uses.
