W1387 Fengli Red-Fleshed Radish, 1 Grams ≈ 90 Seeds

Variety characteristics:

• W1387 Fengli is a distinctive fresh-eating Asian radish producing large cylindrical roots with vivid burgundy-red skin and brilliant magenta-red flesh. Unlike green-skinned watermelon radishes, the intense coloration extends from the outer skin through the interior of the root. Plants mature in approximately 75 days under suitable fall-growing conditions. Fully developed roots can weigh about 2.2 lb, with a crisp, succulent texture and a pleasantly sweet, refreshing flavor. The striking color and juicy flesh make this variety excellent for fresh slices, salads, vegetable platters, quick pickles and decorative garnishes.
Grow in deep, loose and well-drained soil to encourage straight, uniform roots. Raised beds or ridged rows are especially useful where native soil is compacted. Space plants approximately 9.8 inches apart in rows spaced 19.7 inches apart, and maintain even moisture throughout root development. This variety performs best as a fall crop. Spring production is possible under protected conditions, but prolonged chilling followed by lengthening days can increase bolting risk. Radishes develop their best texture and flavor during steady, cool growth, while heat or moisture stress can cause tougher roots and stronger flavor.
