W1368 Black Beauty Green-Stem Bok Choy Seeds, 20g

Variety characteristics:

• W1368 Black Beauty is a compact green-stem bok choy distinguished by exceptionally dark green foliage and thick, gray-green to light-green petioles. Mature plants reach approximately 7.9 inches tall with a spread of about 10.8 inches, developing a tidy, short-stemmed rosette with a noticeably tapered waist. The broad, oval leaves have a smooth surface and substantial, semicylindrical stems. When harvested at a tender stage, the leaves and stalks offer a low-fiber texture with a mild, subtly sweet flavor. The crisp stems and tender foliage are well suited to stir-fries, soups, steaming, braising, dumpling fillings, and other cooked dishes.
This relatively cold-tolerant selection performs well as a spring or fall crop. For full-sized plants, space approximately 7.9 inches apart in rows spaced about 7.9 inches apart. Maintain fertile, moisture-retentive soil and consistent irrigation to encourage tender stems and uniform growth. Bok choy performs best as a cool-season crop, and steady moisture helps preserve crisp, juicy eating quality.
