◆ Lycoris straminea is a perennial herb of the genus Lycoris in the Amaryllidaceae family. It bears umbels with creamy yellow or straw-coloured petals. This species thrives in sunny, moist sites yet tolerates partial shade and drought, and is slightly cold-hardy. Boasting strong adaptability and delicate pale blooms, it is suitable for planting in flower beds, borders and lawns. It can be grown as ground cover under open woodland, and also works well as cut flowers.
Note: All parts of Lycoris plants are toxic as they contain neurotoxic alkaloids and must not be ingested.
