◆ Sanvitalia procumbens is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the genus Sanvitalia in the family Asteraceae. It bears terminal flower heads on slender pedicels and blooms from June to August. Sanvitalia procumbens is highly adaptable, prefers full sun, and is cold and drought tolerant. It is not particular about soil type and grows better in cool climates. It can be formally planted in flower beds and along roadsides; however, due to its relatively short flowering period, it is more suitable for large-scale naturalized planting on slopes and lawn edges. It can also be used for flower border massing and as cut flowers.
