They have large, fleshy tubers, bright green leaves (some with white spots), and a characteristic horseshoe-shaped spathe. These spathes are dark purple, forming distinctive blooms. This species works well for indoor decoration, is widely cultivated as a cut flower, and can also be mass-planted beside ponds or rockeries. They thrive in sufficient sunlight, with an optimal growing temperature range of 18–25℃. They favor warm climates yet are not cold-hardy. Maintain moderately moist soil at all times; extreme dryness and standing water must be avoided. Excess waterlogging is especially harmful during their summer dormancy.
