U2693 Epimedium pubescens, 100 Seeds

Description

- U2693 Epimedium pubescens, commonly known as Hairy-Leaved Barrenwort, is a rhizomatous perennial suited to shaded garden settings. Plants typically reach approximately 8–28 inches tall and gradually develop into attractive foliage colonies. Each trifoliate leaf consists of three leathery, heart-based leaflets with finely serrated edges. Mature foliage is deep green above, while the undersides carry fine gray hairs. New growth may display subtle bronze or reddish tones before turning green.
- In spring, slender stems carry airy clusters of small flowers with white inner sepals and pale-yellow petals. The delicate blooms rise above the foliage and add seasonal interest to woodland beds, shaded borders, slopes, and areas beneath trees or shrubs. Grow in partial to full shade in humus-rich, well-drained soil. Maintain consistent moisture while plants become established and protect the foliage from intense afternoon sun. Growth rate, mature size, flowering time, and foliage color may vary with climate and growing conditions.
