The flowering period is from April to May, and the fruiting period is from May to August. It has strong adaptability and prefers a sunny, well-ventilated environment. It is relatively cold-hardy and shade-tolerant, with some tolerance to waterlogging and barren soil, but it grows best in well-drained, fertile, loose soils in sunny, wind-sheltered locations. When planting, provide walls, trellises, or other supports to accommodate its climbing habit. It grows rapidly and has a long lifespan. Spring and autumn are the best planting seasons, but note that 2–3 years of care are needed before it reaches full bloom.
