◆ The 'Chief' Calla Lily is a perennial bulbous plant belonging to the genus Zantedeschia of the Araceae family. It has fleshy, plump tubers and bright green leaves dotted with white spots. Its spathes are horseshoe-shaped, deep purple, nearly jet-black. Boasting a distinctive flower shape, it works well for indoor decoration, is widely produced as cut flowers, and can also be mass-planted beside ponds or rockeries. It loves full sunlight, with an optimal growing temperature range of 18–25°C. It favors warm conditions yet cannot withstand low temperatures. Keep the growing medium evenly moist when watering; both extreme dryness and waterlogging should be avoided, and extra attention must be paid to prevent standing water during its summer dormancy period.
