◆ Bishop's weed (scientific name: Ammi visnaga) is an annual plant of the genus Ammi in the family Apiaceae, distributed across Eurasia, where it typically grows in alkaline grasslands and arid slopes. It has now been cultivated through artificial introduction. The stem is erect, reaching up to 1 m in height; the leaves are linear, 2–3 cm long, with petioles approximately 10 cm long; the flowers form umbels with long peduncles, and the petals are white. The flowering period occurs in June, and the fruiting period is from July to August. Besides its ornamental value, it also possesses certain medicinal properties.
