Variety characteristics:

• 637 Sgt. Pepper's Tomato is a striking modern variety developed by Jason Haynes and Blane Horton from a cross between OSU P20 and a pink, clear-skinned selection of German Red Strawberry. The heart-shaped fruits range from about 5 to 14 oz and may be slender or full-bodied depending on growing conditions. Ripe tomatoes display rich pink-red coloring with dramatic blue-black anthocyanin shoulders where exposed to sunlight. The juicy, meaty flesh offers excellent flavor. Although the plants have slender stems and naturally wispy, drooping foliage, they are vigorous indeterminate growers with very good production from midseason until frost. The harvested fruits also have excellent keeping quality.
