The substantial tomatoes mature from deep green to chartreuse, olive green, and green gold as the yellow skin develops warm amber and occasional muted rose-red coloring around the blossom end. The dense, exceptionally juicy green flesh contains small seed cavities and delivers full-bodied sweetness, bright balancing acidity, and the rich, complex, slightly spicy flavor associated with the Cherokee tomato family. Vigorous indeterminate plants develop regular foliage, reach approximately 5.9 feet tall or more, and produce heavy crops of smooth to lightly ribbed fruits.
