323 Great Blue Tomato, 5 Seeds

Variety characteristics:

• 323 Great Blue is a spectacular midseason anthocyanin beefsteak tomato producing substantial flattened fruits weighing approximately 7.1 to 19.0 oz in this seed line. Broad, heavily ribbed shoulders give the tomatoes a dramatic sculpted shape, while the skin ripens through yellow-green, golden yellow, olive, and warm green, overlaid with deep blue-violet, indigo, and smoky purple shading across the sun-exposed shoulders and sides. Inside, the juicy, meaty flesh develops rich yellow-green coloring with a bright fresh texture and a full-bodied flavor that combines pronounced sweetness, balanced acidity, and complex fruity tomato depth. Vigorous indeterminate plants grow approximately 6 feet or taller, produce generously over an extended season, and benefit from training to one or two main stems. Provide a tall, sturdy cage or trellis and retain sufficient foliage to protect the pale fruits from sunscald during periods of intense heat. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, burgers, salads, salsa, green salsa, bruschetta, garnishes, tomato platters, roasting, juice, drying, and richly flavored sauces.
