249 Merry Dwarf Tomato, 5 Seeds

Variety characteristics:

• 249 Merry Dwarf is an early, highly productive determinate tomato with sturdy, upright plants reaching only approximately 15.7–19.7 inches tall. The compact plants produce abundant clusters of smooth red paste tomatoes measuring approximately 3.9–4.7 inches long and weighing about 2.8–3.5 oz. Fruits are elongated, cylindrical to sausage-shaped, with rounded ends and an occasional short tip. They ripen from warm orange-red to an attractive bright red and contain thick, meaty flesh with relatively small seed cavities. Their pleasant, balanced tomato flavor and firm texture make them useful both fresh and in the kitchen. The exceptionally compact growth is ideal for patios, balconies, raised beds, small gardens, and medium to large containers. Plants generally require little training, although a short stake or compact cage helps support the heavy fruit clusters. Excellent for fresh salads, slicing, roasting, sauces, salsa, drying, and whole-fruit preservation.
