233 Jason 5 Tomato, 5 Seeds

Variety characteristics:

• 233 Jason 5 is a productive, tall-growing tomato selection with indeterminate vines reaching approximately 5.6 feet under greenhouse conditions. The plants set generous clusters of round to oblate fruits weighing approximately 7.1 oz, with some variation in size and gentle ribbing around the shoulders. This unusual green-when-ripe tomato matures to olive green, yellow-green, or bronze-green, developing attractive yellow, orange, and red mottling or blush as it reaches full ripeness. The juicy flesh offers pronounced sweetness, mild acidity, and a rich, balanced tomato flavor. Check ripeness by watching for warmer skin tones and a slight softening of the fruit rather than waiting for the green color to disappear completely. Train the vigorous vines to one or two main stems and provide sturdy staking, caging, or trellising. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, salsa, sauces, and colorful heirloom-style platters.
