142 Jason 18/1 Striped Tomato, 5 Seeds

Description

142 Jason 18/1 Striped is a remarkably productive mid-to-late-season indeterminate tomato producing enormous golden-red bicolor beefsteaks. Vigorous regular-leaf vines grow approximately 5.9 feet tall and can carry an impressive number of heavy fruits throughout the season. The broadly flattened tomatoes develop prominent ribbing and substantial rounded shoulders, commonly weighing approximately 14.1–21.2 oz, with exceptional specimens approaching 28.2 oz under favorable growing conditions. Fruits mature from pale green and creamy yellow to rich golden-orange, gradually developing attractive pink, coral-red, and crimson blushes. Inside, the juicy, meaty flesh displays brilliant yellow, orange, and red marbling in a dramatic sunburst pattern. The flavor is exceptionally sweet, rich, and fruity, balanced by gentle acidity and a full tomato finish. Train plants to one or two main stems and use heavy-duty stakes, cages, or trellising to support the vigorous vines and exceptionally large fruits. Consistent watering is especially important while the fruits are expanding to help reduce cracking and blossom-end damage. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, colorful sauces, fresh tomato juice, and impressive heirloom-style platters.
