1123 Emerald Meteor Shower Tomato, 5 Seeds

Variety characteristics:

• 1123 Emerald Meteor Shower is an extraordinary indeterminate green-when-ripe tomato producing plump teardrop, broad-pear, and pointed-heart fruits. The glossy tomatoes retain a rich Granny Smith green to olive-green background as they mature, while delicate pink, rose, and copper-colored streaks cascade down the skin like a meteor shower. Many fruits develop a deeper rosy blush around the pointed end, creating a dramatic contrast with the emerald base color. Inside, the juicy flesh blends pale green, golden-yellow, and translucent pink tones with beautiful rose-colored marbling through the center. Fully ripened fruits develop a rich, soft, almost marmalade-like texture. Grower descriptions praise the remarkably sweet, honeyed flavor and pronounced fruity character. Vigorous indeterminate vines continue growing and setting fruit through the season and require secure staking, caging, or trellising. Harvest when the green skin develops warmer olive and golden tones, the pink striping becomes more visible, and the fruit yields slightly to gentle pressure. Excellent for fresh slicing, gourmet salads, sandwiches, colorful tomato platters, salsa, and fresh green tomato sauces.
